Blackbeard (1680 – 22 November 1718) -Born Edward Teach -Captured a French slave ship and renamed the ship The Queen Anne's Revenge. -Helped create a blockade around Charleston, SC in order to ransom the townspeople. -He ran his ship aground in Beaufort, South Carolina. -He attained a royal pardon, but later went back to pirating. -Was killed in a surprise naval attack.
