Ñande Sy means Our Great Mother in the Guaraní language. She is one of the 3 most important divinities together with the Sun and the Great Father. The origin of her is feminine and associated with Mother Nature, centuries after the conquest of America, her image was mixed with a version of the Virgin Mary generated in this area: the Virgin of Itatí. she began to use both names to call her "Nande Sy La Itatí" (Our Great Mother the Itatí)
