Jackie Robinson (January 31, 1919 - October 24, 1972)
-Became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball
-First black vice president of a large corporation, Chock full o'Nuts coffee company.
-Commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1943 and became a member of the 761st "Black Panthers" Tank Battalion.
-Large contributor to the Civil Rights Movement and preferred a nonviolent approach.
